We were supposed to help put the floating dock in at the field station today, but when we woke up to rain Clay and I decided the day would be much happier if the kids and I stayed home. To be nice I offered to watch Clay's advisor's kids as well.
So, I'm home. By myself. With four children.
Yep, that about sums up my day.
I made rice krispie treats to help survive the afternoon. And if that doesn't work, I'm running for the hills the minute Clay and Bill get back from the field station.
Despite the obvious chaos I am experiencing, it's been an interesting day so far. Most days Cole talks and talks and talks without stopping and poor Isabel has trouble being a part of the conversation. But with 3 girls to compete with today, Cole has been the one whose hard-pressed to get a word in. Often Cole's the one telling his little sister that her opinion is no good for some reason or another. But today, he's the one at a loss.
He has been beat down by the female presence in the room.
I'm experiencing evolution in action, watching the female gender take over.
It's pretty hilarious.
