I was about Cole's age when I got my first camera. It was one of those that had film shaped like a disc and you inserted it into your camera like you put a CD into a portable CD player. Does anyone else remember those?

Anyway, we went hiking out at Lemoine Point the other day and I decided to leave the big camera at home. My kids opted to take their cameras to make up for my laziness.

Here is our adventure from Cole's point of view.
*Right before Cole took this picture Isabel said, "I feel like rock climbing." Get it?
I'm always amazed at what kinds of things my kids see as an interesting picture. So far, I think Cole has pretty good eye. It's no wonder art is one of his best subjects.

Hopefully Isabel took some nice photos as well. If she did, that will come next.

Okay, I've got some adventures for you guys that you don't seem to have covered already. I'm seeing a lot of Leimone Pt and the Little Cat. That's only the start, let me explain:

(1) Did you guys go to Ft Henry yet? I haven't been into the actual Fort ever but the view of Kingston from the hill is really something. Just drive up there and walk around: it's cool.

(2) The K and P trail. It's another option if you're looking for urban hiking. It's not amazing, but it's a change of scene.

(3) Little known, privately owned, lots of trails, no maps, and very easy to get lost, if you take Taylor Kidd Blvd, cross Collins Bay Rd, cross a bridge and then look for parked cars. Park next to the other parked cars. These trails are the only place to mountain bike in Kingston, but they'd also do nicely for hiking. I saw some amazing fractured rock on the South side, although I have no idea how I got there. These trails are frequently flooded but hardly anyone knows about them and they're really cool. In the spring, the wild flowers are awesome.

(4) Go for icecream on Wolfe Island. Okay, sure when you get to wolfe island there is nothing there, but the boat ride is cool. And the interisland trip to Cape Vincent in the summer is cool, because it's the most laid-back board crossing I have ever seen.

Have fun you guys :)
